Once or twice a year we have an open class, where family and friends are invited to watch. At the end of the year we present a concert where all the children perform.
During regular classes the dancers and their teacher are the only ones allowed in the studio. Parents are not permitted to stay during the class for a number of reasons. When the parent is present the child’s attention is divided between the class and her desire to impress the parent. This does not allow her to fully participate in the class and thereby achieve her potential. The other children in class are also distracted from the class routine by the “mysterious visitor”. Some of them may be inhibited through shyness by the visitor’s presence. Due to lack of full attention the teacher is unable to instruct as she has planned.
The dancer should arrive 5 minutes before the ballet class commences, so she will have time to prepare herself. Please do not be late as it disturbs the continuity of the class.
Parents of very young children - please take them to the toilet before the class starts!
Dancers may bring a bottle of water. No food is allowed inside the studio.
It is extremely important for the quality of learning to attend all classes and keep absenteeism to a minimum.
